Easter

Posted on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014.

On Wednesday 1st April school closes for the Easter Break and it has been another busy term for us all in school during the Spring Term.

In school and at home we have been getting ready for Easter. Children have brought home ‘Lenten bags’ to prepare for Easter at home with their families; we have been amazed by the thoughtful prayers written and the activities the children and their families carried out and recorded in the special books. On Tuesday 31st March our Junior children performed for us a beautiful Passion Play. Through song, dance and drama they retold the Easter story to a packed audience of families, friends and parishioners who all really enjoyed the performance.

Next term will also be a busy one as we will continue with our focus on raising standards in Reading. Please encourage your children to read over the holidays and encourage them to become active readers by talking to them about their books. Also next term Year 6 will take their SATsY and Year 2 will do their ‘Special Work’; Year 4 children will be receiving the sacraments of Confirmation and Communion; classes will enjoy school trips and sports day; and there will also be  parents’ evenings and children’s reports. Lots to do and enjoy!

We would like to thank you for your support over the Spring Term.  We look forward to a successful and productive Summer Term which starts on Monday 13th April.

The Staff and Governors of St Oswald’s would like to wish you all a Happy and Peaceful Easter.

Best wishes,

Miss H Lennon
